Rice Savian – Healthy Breakfast

Ingredients
  • 300 g Rice savian
  • 50 g Peanuts
  • 10 Almonds (pieces, as per taste)
  • 10 Cashew nuts (pieces, as per taste)
  • 3 Green Chili (pieces, as per taste)
  • 3 Red Chilli (pieces, as per taste)
  • 4 tbsp Urad dal
  • 4 tbsp Lime juice
  • 10 Curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida (hing)
  • Spices - Salt, turmeric powder and mustard seeds (As per taste)
  • 8 tbsp Olive oil
  • Coriander for garnishing (as per taste)
Instructions
  1. Boil water in the pan
  2. Add salt in the water
  3. Add rice savian in the water
  4. Boil for 1-2 minutes till savian become soft
  5. Drain the savian
  6. Heat oil in the pan
  7. Add ingredients one by one as given in next step
  8. Add peanuts, almonds, cashew nuts, mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilies, red chilies and urad dal
  9. Keep stirring
  10. Roast till all ingredients turn brown
  11. Add asafoetida, turmeric powder and salt. Salt should be added in the end.
  12. Stir properly
  13. Switch off the gas/heater
  14. Add boiled savian and mix the ingredients properly
  15. Garnish with coriander
  16. Rice savian are ready to serve. Serve hot.
Recipe Notes

  1. Do add salt in boiling water otherwise rice savian may turn sticky.
  2. You cany buy these Rice savian from any Indian store.
